Education Outdoors immerses our explorers into a range of environments, growing their appreciation for the world around them and allowing them to build better connections with themselves and fellow explorers.
Intrinsically linked to the curriculum, explorers work together in teams as they rely on their individual strengths to problem solve, growing a better understanding and knowledge of working together.
Based at our Valley Campus in the beautiful Fingal Valley, it is a truly unique and beautiful learning program that must be seen and experienced to be appreciated.
Year 7 Valley Life Program
‘Valley Life’ is based in and around the Valley Campus in the Central North East of Tasmania. Half of this program is a ‘survival’ themed expedition in the environment surrounding the Valley Campus. There is a focus on the moving water of the South Esk River where students are involved in bushwalking, raft-building, fire-lighting, shelter-building, group decision making, food preparation, campfire cooking, and sleeping in tents and survival shelters.
The other half of the program is based at the Valley Campus cabins and students undertake activities such as canoeing on a the campus lake, high and low ropes challenge courses, community service, Indigenous and environmental education, team games, and initiative activities.
